31 Days of Halloween

Spookiness for the entire month of October

31 Days of Halloween

This year we decided to make a list of spooky, and Halloween themed, episodes of some TV shows we enjoy. We will watch one episode every night during the month of October, leading up to Halloween.

Check out our Halloween Entertainment Amazon Store for some movies, books, games, and more, to enjoy at this time of year!

Spooky Shows for the Season:

We won’t be watching all of these, but to give you some ideas here’s a list of a few shows that are great for this time of year. You should be able to catch most of these shows on Netflix or Hulu:

SpookyShows

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – You can’t go wrong with a show dedicated to vampires, and all kinds of demons.

Angel – A spin off of Buffy. Vampire with a soul running a detective agency. “Angel Investigations. We help the helpless.”

Supernatural – Brothers, who have been trained as “hunters” since they were kids, fighting evil, supernatural beings.

American Horror Story – Spooky series, perfect for this month. I have no other way to explain it, other than that it’s occasionally confusing.

The Dresden Files – Harry Dresden, Wizard for hire. Lost items found. Paranormal Investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates. A lot of fans of the books didn’t like the series. There are a couple of things I would have changed, but we actually enjoy the series, we just don’t compare it to the books.

Deal Like Me – Grim reapers; living among us, holding normal jobs, and reaping your soul when you’re about to die.

The Walking Dead – Zombies. Duh.

Reaper – On his 21st birthday, Sam discovers his parents sold his soul to the devil before birth, and he must now be a bounty hunter for the devil until he dies.

Grimm – Nick is a Grimm, which means he can see the true faces of monsters who live among us. It’s also his responsibility to deal with them when necessary.

Possessed – This is a Korean drama that I watched a couple of years ago, I honestly don’t remember much, but I do recall liking it, and thinking it was creepy. If you like Asian dramas it’s worth checking out.

Sleepy Hollow – I thought I would add this new show to the list, because it’s kind of awesome.

What We’ll Be Watching:

Not every show we’re watching is in that specific genre of the ‘supernatural’, but some of the shows that we love have certain episodes that we feel are very much in the spirit of creepiness or Halloween fun.

BuffySupernatural

In putting together this list, I somehow ended up with A LOT of episodes from Supernatural (only S1-5). I must be in a mood.

Supernatural: Season 1 – Bloody Mary, Asylum, Scarecrow, Hell House, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. Season 2 – Bloodlust, Playthings, and Hollywood Bablylon. Season3 – Bedtime Stories, Malleus Maleficarum, Ghostfacers!, Season4 – Monster Movie, It’s the Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester, Family Remains. Season5 – The End, and The Real Ghostbusters.

Buffy: Halloween, Fear Itself, Hush, and Buffy vs Dracula.

Doctor Who: The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances, Blink, and Night Terrors.

Quantum Leap: The Boogieman, and Blood Moon.

Psych: Scary Sherry Bianca’s Toast, Tuesday the 17th, In Plain Fright, and This Episode Sucks.

We didn’t forget about movie nights. There are a lot of classic horror movies, and I’m sure you know what they all are; Psycho, The Exorcist, Poltergeist, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and so on. We usually just pick movies based on our mood. So this October we’ll be watching:

MoviesForHalloween

Ghostbusters – Because, well, ghosts! Who you gonna call?

Hocus Pocus – Witches, Halloween, and good, cheesy fun. This one is actually just me and Amanda, we’re the only ones who love and appreciate this movie around here. I watch it every year!

Sleepy Hollow – Cause…Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp? I actually haven’t seen this movie in a long time, and thought I should check it out once again.
