CINDY is a 21st century Cinderella. Taking cues from reality TV but retelling the Cinderella story in a fresh cinematic fashion, it is the kind of genre-bender that Director and Co-Writer Larry Wilson is noted for. The humor is often dark. A Fairy Godmother with a drug problem? A Handsome Prince who is old enough to be Cindy’s father?! The drama is deeply felt and rooted in the real world. The fantasy has that surreal Beetlejuice edge. These elements blend together in the ongoing story of a 16-year-old girl struggling to escape a world of “happily never after”.
Larry Wilson also co-wrote The Addams Family, wrote and directed for six seasons of Tales From The Crypt.
