Local Spotlight: Books & Brews

Books & Brews, in Indianapolis, Indiana, opened just over a year ago. The concept is a family friendly used bookstore in the front, and a brewery in the back.

In the front you can find all kinds of used books, an area to play retro video games, and various merchandise you can purchase, such as t-shirts, tote bags, and growler gift sets. They also have table top gaming nights, and movie nights. The back is where you can go to drink, mingle, and sometimes listen to live music.

Their beers are always based on something from a well known book, or author. Some of the beer names have included: Nancy Brew & The Hoppy Boys, The Three Hopsketeers, It Was A Dark and Smoky Stout, and Dubbeldore’s Magic Ale.

The first brew I ever tried there was the Charlie and the Chocolate Stout float!

It’s a welcoming environment, and a great place to meet up with friends for some great brews! Do you have something similar, or another kind of unique place where you live?
