“Forgotten” Early 2000s Sci-Fi Shows

Who else remembers these?

“Forgotten” Early 2000s Sci-Fi Shows

If it wasn’t for the fact that people uploaded things on YouTube, I would have thought I was the only one who remembered some of these shows. I consider them “forgotten” simply because of the fact I never hear any one talk about them, or know what they are if I bring them up. But, of course, I know others out there are like me and actually remember these shows.

The Chronicle (2001)
This aired either before, or after, The Invisible Man (2000) on Sc-Fi (what is now known as SyFy). They were both shows that I loved back in the day, but I feel like people only remember The Invisible Man, and there are still tons of people who don’t know that one either. I still clearly remember an episode of The Chronicle where they reference The Invisible Man, but brush off the story as too fake, even for them.

IMDb description: A young, highly qualified reporter can’t find work with a major paper and signs on with a tabloid. There he learns that all the tabloid stories including aliens, big foot, and reincarnation are true.

Special Unit 2 (2001)
My fuzzy memory tells me this aired on the same night as Star Trek Enterprise, probably in the same time slot.

IMDb description: Detectives Kate Benson and Nick O’Malley from a secret Chicago P.D. unit solve violent crimes committed by mythological creatures aka ‘Links’ while trying to hide the Links existence from the general public.

Cleopatra 2525 (2000)
My brain seems to be remembering this playing before or after Jack of All Trades (Bruce Campbell), but I could be wrong.

(I just looked up a video for it, and my memory was right, they did air back to back)

IMDb description: An exotic dancer, cryogenically frozen in the year 2001, is accidentally thawed out in 2525 by two female warriors who are fighting against evil robots which have taken over the world. The three join forces and try to escape the underground caverns to which humanity has been banished, meeting up with all sorts of strange creatures along the way.

BONUS:
First Wave (1998)
Not technically an early 2000s show, because it started in 1998, but I felt like it fit on this list.

IMDb description: Framed for murder and on the run, a former thief struggles to expose the vanguard of an alien invasion with the help of a conspiracy theorist and newly discovered prophecies of Nostradamus.

These are not the only shows that fall into the “forgotten” category from that time, but they were the ones that stood out in my head for some reason.
