Synopsis:

With a force of personality capable of bending time itself and all the energy of a star’s exploding heart, the Doctor blasts into the hollow, tragic life of a woman with so much to offer – and gives her the chance to scream “Geronimo!” at the thrills, colors and terrors of an infinite universe!

Alice Obiefune was at her lowest ebb when the Eleventh Doctor burst into her life – she’d lost her mother, her job and her apartment. But it didn’t take much of the Doctor’s compassion to get her on board the TARDIS, rediscovering the beauty in life, one time-lost adventure at a time!

From tackling an alien pet in the streets of London, to exposing a devilish mystery in the 1930s Bayou; from discovering the truth behind an austerity-hit pleasure planet to facing a shapeshifting horror in a scientific research station – every day with the Doctor brings a new, impossible, life-threatening experience!

But there’s a storm gathering, just out of view… One that threatens to offer both the Doctor and Alice their deepest, fondest wishes… Just hope they don’t accept!

My Thoughts:

Alice makes a fine companion for the Eleventh Doctor, and it’s nice change that she is a bit older than his companions we were familiar with on our TV Screens, and it’s also nice she isn’t lusting after the Doctor. It reminds me of The Tenth Doctor and Donna, which was one of my favorite Doctor/Companion pairings.

It is definitely worth the read, but I did feel as if it was lacking in some way that I can’t quite put my finger on.  Even so, I would recommend this for any Eleventh Doctor fan. You get to relive the Doctors wackiness, and wisdom, and get to meet a new courageous companion.

In a way I almost identified with this companion, in the sense that she has been having such a tough time, and felt like all was lost, then suddenly The Doctor is there to take her away on adventures. How many times have us Doctor Who fans hoped The Doctor would arrive and take us away from our problems for awhile? I know I keep hoping to hear the ‘vworp vworp’ sound outside my door.
