Even though I'm a huge Ten fan, I think I actually think I preferred this to the first issue of the Ten comic. Wasn't so keen on the ending, but what I really liked was the art and tone. And the new companion, Alice, is unlike anyone we've seen so far. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #1
From Titan Comics, hitting comic book stores on July 23rd are new adventures featuring the Eleventh Doctor.
Alice Obiefune has just lost her mother when the Doctor explodes into her life.
But what does this grieving young woman have to do with the career of a 70s musician, an amnesiac alien, and a terrifying cosmic threat?
In the wake of the second Big Bang, find out what the Doctor gets up to when Amy and Rory aren’t around!
Alice is having a rough time. Her mother passed away, she lost her job, and she is being evicted from her apartment. She is understandably sad. But her life is about to change in an unexpected way, thanks to a run in with a large colorful dog-type-alien, and of course the mad man with a blue box. The Doctor.
The writing and art style definitely bring the craziness of the Eleventh Doctor to life in this series. His companion for these stories, Alice, maybe be sad about her recent life events, but she is also full of spirit. It will be interesting to see her as his companion, she seems very different than those we’re used to seeing him with. But I am sure the Doctor will help her overcome her sadness, and they will have some great adventures together.
