InuYasha: Kagome’s Family

InuYasha: Kagome’s Family

It’s been a long time so I decided to rewatch an old favorite, InuYasha, and as of the time of this post I just started season four.

There is one thing that really hit me during this rewatch, that I didn’t really even pay attention to back in the day when I originally watched it. And that was how Kagome’s family are apparently the most trusting and understanding people ever.

Stop and think about it for a second. Kagome is a 15 year old Japanese school girl, who can travel down a well into the feudal era, where her life is constantly at risk. In doing so she also misses a lot of school, and her grades are bad. She hangs out with a half demon, who also happens to be a guy, and despite his appearance and attitude, is around 200 or so years old. So when Kagome is like, “I’m going back for a few days!”, and her mom and grandfather are just all, “Have fun! See you when you get back!”… I mean… WHAT?!? Why don’t they try to stop her? They don’t even seem that concerned. I’m so confused.

Kagome’s family are pretty awesome, or crazy, I can’t decide which.
