I'm incredibly sad about the Titanfall one. I couldn't get to IGN's site due to network restrictions. That was the one I was hoping was real even more than the Rosetta Stone: Klingon.
April Fools 2014 on the Internet
On April 1st every year we always look forward to what our favorite sites are doing for April Fools jokes. This year we decided to highlight a few of our favorites from 2014.
Blizzard Entertainment – This year they announced a new game, “Outcasts: Vengence of the Vanquished“. An 8-bit fighting game, featuring some of our favorite, lesser, characters from the Blizzard World, such as; Arcturus Mengsk (StarCraft), D. Cain (Diablo III), Gamon (World of Warcraft), and more. I know that myself, and many other Blizzard fans, would totally play this.
More from Blizzard: Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void has been renamed, based on recent, in depth, studies that have indicated that the acronym ‘HotS’ is loved by the Blizzard community. The new name: StarCraft II: Herald of the Stars. You can also play some Happy Reaper, there are some Warlord’s of Draenor patch notes, and check out the new Draenei female model!
Google – Dozens of wild Pokémon have taken up residence on streets, amidst forests and atop mountains throughout Google Maps.
To catch ’em all, grab your Poké Ball and the newest version of Google Maps for iPhone or Android. Then tap the search bar, “press start,” and begin your quest. (and of course there are other Google jokes as well)
Make sure to check out the Titanfall Optimus Prime DLC trailer.
BioWare – Check out what they did, Garrus Vakarian Body Pillow, go ahead, click ‘Add to Cart’.
ThinkGeek – One of our favorite places to shop, and every year they come up with some fun items for April Fool’s. Sometimes they actually make one of their jokes into a real thing. This year I’m hoping some of those items include the NERF Nuke, the Flux Capacitor Car Charger, and the Darkmage LED Spellcasting Staff, among other things.
