Gen Con 2013: Our Top 5 Moments

Gen Con 2013: Our Top 5 Moments

There are a few things from GenCon 2013 that stood out to us, personally. I was just reflecting on them, and thought that I would share them with you! (check out all of our Gen Con coverage & fun posts)

5. The Costumes!

There was a lot of Star Wars cosplay.

It sounds silly, but just seeing all of the cosplay, and taking some pics. We loved it all, especially when a lot of the Doctor Who cosplayers got together. If you follow our blog, then you know we’re huge Doctor Who fans. I wish I had more time to just walk around and see more of the great costumes everyone was wearing.

4. Literally, unexpectedly, bumping into Peter Davison in a hallway.

This will be hanging above my desk soon!

Yep. What? I’m a fan girl, and I won’t apologize for it. But I didn’t get all weird, just kind of froze for a moment when I heard his voice, then looked up and saw who was in front of me. Later that day I got his autograph, of course.

3. Firefly: the Game demo with one of the designers.

Firefly: the Game

Getting the chance to sit in on on a demo of Firefly the Game, and learning how to play from one of the designers was kind of awsome. We just wish that we had been able to get a pre-release copy of the game and had him sign it, would have made it so much better! This game is a must have for us.

2. Meeting the guys from Walking in Circles.

Hanging around in the halls of the convention center, we got to chat a bit with Adam Rady (Markus), Eric Radic (Krag) and Don Kidd (Drusk, the Orc of science!). This was such a treat, they were all really great, and season two of the series was simply awesome! (check it out, seriously. Details in my post) I loved when I asked about Alex (one of the characters), and everyone got weird, found out why after I saw season two.

1. Attending the “Inside TableTop” panel, featuring Wil Wheaton.

TableTop Panel

Wil tweeting, just before swearing us to secrecy.

On Sunday we found out, pretty much by accident, about the panel. Wil was awesome, and so very funny. Plus the TableTop episode (featuring Felicia Day) that we previewed was hilarious. It was an unexpected, and perfect way to end our 4 days at Gen Con.
